Merging Two Accounts

First asked 232 days ago Browser: Firefox 3.5

I somehow created two accounts for Read It Later and I would now like them combined. One was created using the Firefox add-on and the other with the iPhone app. Does anyone know if I can combine them?

    Hey Ken

    Merging shouldn't be a problem.

    Try the following:

First, make sure you are using the 2.0 version of the Firefox extension as it will make this easier:
    http://readitlaterlist.com/blog/2009/09/read-it-later-20-beta-1/

In the example below, I'll refer to the two accounts as Account A and Account B. And we'll say that Account B is the account you want to merge A into.

    In Firefox:
    --------------
    1. Open your reading list
    2. Click the options icon
    3. In the options window, select the account tab
    4. Click Logout
    6. Click Login
    7. Login to Account A
    8. Open your reading list
    9. Right click the sync icon and select 'Full sync'
    10. Repeat steps 1-9 above but login to Account B instead.

    On the iPhone:
    ------------
    1. Open the app
    2. Open the options
    3. Click 'logout'
    4. Login to Account B

Both the app and the Firefox extension should have the same list now and the contents of account's A and B should be in Account B.

Thanks! Now I have combined my two lists and don't need to deal with Xmarks just to see the items I saved on another computer. Now I can really start relying on ReadItLater!    Private comment hidden

I can't find the sync button. I'm using Postponer for Google Chrome, and I wish to merge that account
